Ewing, Louie. Santa Fe, NM: Laboratory of Anthropology & San Vincente Foundtion, 1947/1949. Hardcover. Limited Edition. 102 pp. 8vo.; 99 pp. 8vo. These two items, which match in height and have similarities in design both have paper covers over boards. Both copies are housed in a custom slipcase with a leather spine and gold embossed titling. Both volumes heavily illustrated with black and white photographs and descriptions of the textiles and their origin. "The Alfred I. Barton Collection of Southwestern Textiles" also contains three color serigraphs by Louie Ewing that reproduce vibrant Pueblo, Navajo, and Rio Grande tribal designs at the beginning of each section illustrating their work. Fine.
"Navajo Textile Arts" [Purcell 69] was printed in an edition of 1,250 copies. "The Alfred I. Barton Collection of Southwestern Textiles" volume does not appear to have been designed by Armitage although the cover design could be argued as being very similar to his work and it does not appear in Purcell's bibliography. However, Armitage is listed as Vice-President of the San Vincente Foundation. This volume was produced in an edition of 250 copies, this being #145 and signed by H. P. Mera and Louie Ewing,
