Thomas Hunt Morgan (1866-1945) was an American geneticist and embryologist. This article describes Morgan's theories about the pivotal roles of genese and chromosomes in the process of evolution, which he describes in more detail in his famous 1915 boopk, "The Mechanism of Mendelian Inheritance." Morgan won the Nobel Prize for Physiology of Medicine in 1933.
