Documentation by James Smither (1833-1901) who served as Ceylon's (Sri Lanka) first "Architect to the Government of Ceylon" from 1865 to 1883. Smither's measured drawings and descriptions some of the sacred structures of Abhayagiri Vih ra which was an important monastery site for Mahayana, Theravada, and Vajrayana Buddhism and remains one of the most sacred sites in Sri Lanka for Buddhist pilgrimage. Originally published in 1894, this facsimile edition was printed in 1992 in an edition of 150 copies, this being #8.
