Book design has become even more important in the era of Kindle and other e-books. Publishers are finally realizing that a beautiful object is important to readers, not simply the words on the page. Sometimes, however, words on a page, when designed and arranged properly, are a joy to behold. Our good friend Val Lester has published her latest book, Giambattista Bodoni, His Life and His World, the first full-scale biography of the legendary type designer and printer and she will join us on August 13th to broaden our minds a bit more on the importance of design in the printed word.
